Robert Parker: „Aged on the full less for nine months in large, used oak barrels (1,200 liter) and then for another nine months on the fine lees in stainless steel, the 2020 Schloss Johannisberg Silberlack Riesling Trocken GG offers a rich and complex bouquet of ripe and intense white fruits intertwined with finely nutty, yeasty and herbal as well as flinty notes. Full-bodied and rich on the palate, this is a mouth-filling, textured and sustainably saline Riesling with a firm and stringent structure and quite a lot of power that is captured by fine tannins and just two grams of residual sugar. Definitely a wine to age. Very long, pure and saline, this grand cru will definitely refine over the years in the bottle. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2022.”
